Ordering from ThisLittleCottage.com is safe and secure. We utilize SSL Secure Certificates to encrypt all personal data to and from our site. 


Ordering:

Most items may be placed directly in our online secure shopping cart. For assistance, please call us at (252)-995-3320 between the hours of 10:00 - 5:00 EST.  If no one is available to assist you or if it is after hours, please leave a detailed message regarding your order and we will return the call the following business day.  Orders are processed Monday through Friday. Orders placed on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays will be processed the next business day. Please allow 24 hours for processing orders.

Backorders:
If an item is on backorder you will be notified within 1 business day of placing your order.  You may choose to wait for the item or cancel your order and your credit card will not be charged.

This Little Cottage Signature Packaging:
Items are wrapped in This Little Cottage’s signature packaging.  Please let us know if there is a special occasion and we will glady include a personalized note.  We apologize but some items are too large to wrap.

Gift Certificates:
This Little Cottage gift certificates are available from $25.00 up and are mailed free of charge. The gift certificate will be wrapped in our signature packaging and include your gift message.

Payment:
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. To pay by check, money order or if you would like to speak directly to a sales person please call us at (252) 995-3320 and we will be happy to assist you.  Custom orders require a 50% deposit at the time of order.  Personal checks and money orders must be received within 10 days. Checks must clear before your order ships.

Sales Tax:
Sales tax is only charged on items shipped to a North Carolina address.


Shipping:
Our standard shipping is via UPS. Please contact us for expedited shipping options. 

There is no delivery cost for shipping gift certificates.  

For an extra charge of $30.00 per address, we can arrange for 2nd day Express Delivery to most destinations. (If we receive your order by 2:00 pm EST Monday-Thursday, you will receive your purchase within two business days).  EXPRESS DELIVERY IS NOT AVAILABLE for over-sized items, custom items,  items shipped by the manufacturer or for items shipped out of the US.


Return Policy:
Only standard stock items may be returned.   If you would like to exchange an item please contact us at 252-995-3320 to receive your return authorization number.  Items returned without an authorization number will not be accepted.  Items must be returned within 30 days of receipt for a store credit.  Items must be unworn and unused and returned in their original package with original store receipt. Shipping fees are non-refundable. ALL SALE ITEM PURCHASES ARE FINAL.
If you are returning an item by US Postal Service, please return to PO Box 189, Avon, NC 27915. If returning by UPS, please return to 41934 NC Hwy 12, Avon, NC 27915.
*Some of our products ship for free. If a free shipping item is returned you will receive credit for the full amount of the product less initial shipping charges. A 15% restocking fee will apply to all rugs 6x9 and larger. Shipping charges will apply for exchanges on products originally shipped for free.

Custom Orders and Furniture:
Any custom item requires a 50% deposit at the time your order is placed and the balance paid upon shipping.  Please contact us at (252) 995-3320 if you have questions on what constitutes a custom order.  You must contact us within three business days from the date the order was placed to cancel your custom order.  Damaged items must be reported to us within 3 days of receipt.

Furniture Orders

Natural wood colors may vary. You may request a sample to be sent to you before placing your order.  We require a deposit of $25 that will be charged to your credit card if the swatches are not returned within 14 days of receipt.  Swatch samples are not guaranteed matches of color and finish.  All custom furniture orders sales are final.  Items seen on the website may appear different than items seen in person. 

Measuring for Furniture and Fabric

It is important that you measure correctly before placing a furniture or fabric order. We are not responsible for furniture items or fabrics that do not fit once your order is placed.

Freight Shipping for Over-sized Furniture
If your furniture or merchandise order exceeds the weight and size standards for shipping with UPS, shipping will be arranged with a Freight Carrier.  We will notify you when your order is ready to ship. Once your furniture is picked up from the manufacturer, shipping generally takes 7-10 business days in route. Most items are shipped freight collect, the carrier will collect shipping and handling charges from you at time of delivery.  It is standard practice for freight companies to provide curbside delivery only.  Delivery does not include merchandise brought into your home, up stairs, unpacked or assembled.
White Glove Service
If you are in need of inside delivery and set up, you may arrange for White Glove Service. This service includes merchandise brought into your home and placed in the spot you like, unpacked and assembled. There is an additional charge for White Glove Service, most freight companies offer this service and each company varies.  Please contact us in advance if you would like White Glove Service and we will gladly get you a quote.
Freight Receipt and Damages
You must be present to receive, inspect and sign for your delivery. Upon receipt of your furniture or merchandise it is important that you inspect the item carefully. Please note any damage on the bill before signing while the driver is present.   If you notice any damage, please notify the Freight Company and This Little Cottage immediately. Damage resulting from shipping is the responsibility of the freight carrier and the receiver must file a claim.
